The first-ever womens Olympic event was the Tennis competition at the 1900 Paris Olympics. Not only did women finally get to compete, but they also set a precedent for future generations to serve up their own records!

The Olympic flag has five rings, representing the five continents: Africa, America, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. But did you know it was designed in 1913 by Pierre de Coubertin and the rings didnt represent any specific continent? He just thought five was a nice, easy number!

The first Winter Olympics were held in Chamonix, France, in 1924. However, it was originally meant to be just a series of snow sports, not the global extravaganza it is today. So, in a way, it all started with a bunch of snowballs and skis!

Michael Phelps isnt just a swimmer; hes a fish with a record of 23 Olympic gold medals. If you lined up all his gold medals, they would weigh more than the average cat. Thats a lot of gold for someone who probably only needed a towel!
