The longest marathon ever run took place in 1978 and lasted 80 days! Yes, you read that right—80 days of running. The runner, Bob Hayes, circled the entire United States while maintaining a daily running routine. Talk about run for your life in the most literal sense. Hope he had a good pair of shoes!
