Pandas Can’t Digest Bamboo Efficiently

Despite their diet consisting mostly of bamboo, pandas have a very inefficient digestive system that only absorbs about 17% of the nutrients. So they have to eat a LOT of bamboo every day to survive—talk about a picky eater!
